Hollywood directors and David Attenborough join Wildscreen Festival’s 2022 speaker line-up
Wildscreen, Bristol’s renowned natural world storytelling festival, has just announced its latest wave of guest speakers at next month’s landmark 40th anniversary event. It’s been confirmed that Wildscreen patron Sir David Attenborough will once again open the festival, this time with a special pre-recorded message.

Darren Aronofsky
Two leading Hollywood directors with strong environmentalist credentials are also taking part. Darren Aronofsky, whose credits include the Oscar nominated Black Swan and The Wrestler, recently premiered his latest film The Whale at the Venice Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation. He’s coming to Bristol for what’s billed as a ‘live fireside chat’ in which he’ll explore new ways to tell stories in natural history.

James Cameron
Aliens, Titanic and Avatar director James Cameron needs no introduction, although this appears to be one. He’s also a vegan and National Geographic Explorer at Large. Wildscreen promises a “pre-recorded intimate chat” with Cameron as he gears up for release of the first Avatar sequel.
is needed now More than ever
“We’ve been making huge efforts towards securing the line-up for our landmark 40th anniversary, which we believe to be our strongest yet,” says Wilscreen CEO Lucie Muir. “Delegates will get a chance to hear from the industry’s most groundbreaking speakers across politics, the arts, content and activism, with numerous opportunities for the public to also be part of the event including opportunities to attend exclusive film screenings and photography exhibitions.”
Wildscreen is live and online from October 10-14 2022. Tickets for public events are on sale here.
