Two inspiring films on how to make the city a safer place have received a red carpet premiere.
The films have been made by young people in south Bristol as part of community organisation Unique Voice‘s Safer Streets project, in partnership with Bristol City Council and Crimestoppers.
The first of the films has been created by students from Merchants Academy in Withywood on community and equality, while the second by students from Bridge Learning Campus in Hartcliffe is on violence against women and girls.

The films, which have special introductions by Ellis Genge and Sir Patrick Stewart, were made following the schoolchildren’s participation in creative and explorative workshops with Unique Voice.
The Safer Streets project aims to empower young people to look at how they can make their community a safer and better place to be in, by making informed choices when faced with difficult challenges or decisions.
Speaking during the premiere, Krystal Keeley, company director of Unique Voice, said: “We would like to say an enormous thank you and shout out to every single young person who has invested their time, opinion, ideas and mind-blowing creativity into this project.
“Without you these films wouldn’t be possible and your influence in these films are sure to have a lasting impact.”
She added: “Maybe you will never know the true impact of your participation in Safer Streets and in some ways it’s unmeasurable but please remember this…
“You have been the driving force of change in your community. You showed up, narrated something as adults we couldn’t possibly achieve, and creatively called for change.”
