Rooted in Bristol screens at Windmill Hill City Farm
Premiered at last year’s Afrika Eye festival, Rooted in Bristol is the organisation’s first venture into documentary film production.
Co-directed by Annie Menter and Manu Maunganidze and packed with great characters, the 30 minute film explores the previously untold stories of people of African heritage who’ve created kitchen gardens in allotments across the city over many decades. Many have been keeping alive culinary traditions by using seeds brought from Africa and the Caribbean.
Now there’s another opportunity to watch this fascinating documentary – this time in the apt surroundings of Windmill Hill City Farm, which has championed the cause of making green space available to everyone.
