Seaside Cinema: Back to the Future
1985 comedy time-travel classic kicks off the Curzon's Seaside Cinema weekend
Clevedon’s historic Curzon cinema returns to Salthouse Fields this year for four days of Seaside Cinema, running from July 8-11. The programme comprises family classics (Back to the Future, Up, Finding Nemo, The Lion King) and musical outdoor cinema staples (Bohemian Rhapsody, Mamma Mia!).
They’re also teaming up with the Clevedon Skate Project for a selection of short films about skateboarding, roller-skating and BMX riding, with accompanying coaching sessions. And world record breaking marathon swimmer Beth French will be present for a Q&A after a screening of Against the Tides – the documentary about her attempt to conquer the Oceans Seven challenge.
There will be a bar and local food stalls at each screening. You’re invited to bring your own seats and picnic blankets. The events will only be cancelled if it absolutely pisses down or there are dangerously high winds. Oh, and be prepared to give generously to the Curzon’s balcony appeal while you’re there. They’ll be going round with collection buckets.
