Bristol Palestine Film Festival: Junction 48
Fact-based drama about and starring Tamer Nafar, who brought hip-hop to Palestine
Marking 50 years since the occupation of the West Bank, this year’s seventh annual Bristol Palestine Film Festival brings an eclectic selection of films and events to various venues across the city from December 6-11. It kicks off with a repeat showing of last year’s big hit, Speed Sisters – a documentary about the first all-female race car team in the Middle East. There’s also another chance to see the hugely acclaimed In Between, followed by a Skype Q&A with director Maysaloun Hamoud.
Elsewhere, there’s live music from 47Soul, plus several UK film premieres. These include documentaries about Palestinian embroidery and revolutionary history and a fictionalised biopic of the fella who brought hip-hop to Palestine. The festival concludes on a lighter note with the delicious satirical comedy Holy Air. Follow the links below for screening venues and times.
