Shaun the Sheep gets abducted by aliens in Farmageddon teaser trailer

By Robin Askew  Tuesday Dec 11, 2018

Bristol’s Aardman Animations have just unleashed the first teaser trailer for their next feature, Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. This sees the Farmer awoken by mysterious sounds and lights in his wheat field, his terrified bellow also waking Bitzer the long-suffering sheepdog. Turns out Shaun and chums are having fun making crop circles. The twist comes when our ovine hero find himself sucked into a UFO and whisked away.

It’s all suitably Close Encounters spooky with an idiosyncratic Aardman comic twist, and (perhaps deliberately) reminiscent of the opening of the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs.

Farmageddon is the follow-up to Aardman’s hit 2015 Shaun the Sheep Movie, which took more than $100m worldwide. Our Euro-chums the Germans and French will get to see this one first, from September 26 and October 16 2019 respectively. It opens in UK cinemas on October 18 2019.
