A new song for Bristol: Lockdown Riddim
Bristol Beacon has released a new track as part of its ‘A New Song For Bristol’ project.
‘Lockdown Riddim’ by Bristol-based producer and vocalist Grove is the latest of the songs released by the Bristol community about life over lockdown.
The venue received creations from people of all ages, communities and backgrounds, sharing a huge range of experiences, subjects and emotions. The submissions have now been turned into six brand new songs by Bristol-based artists.

“Lockdown had the potential to be this all-consuming negative experience – especially for young people,” said Grove on their track.
“When posing the topic to the young people in Hope Creative, I wanted to fully honour their genuine experience, good or bad, of the 10 months of various lockdowns, whilst also encouraging taking a perspective that looked to the future as bursting with potential.”
“I’m hoping people will look back and appreciate the resilience they had in order to get through this.”
Grove’s track is the sixth out of seven songs that Bristol Beacon is releasing as part of its ‘A New Song For Bristol’ project.
