A Bristol folk band continues to sail the crest of the wave thanks to the continued global popularity of sea shanties.
Just days after Wellerman by The Longest Johns entered the top-40 singles charts, the foursome have signed global deals with Decca Records and live touring agency United Talent.
Their cover of the 19th century whaling song has now been listened to more than 14.3m times on Spotify and remains at number four in the global viral chart.

The Longest Johns’ new labelmates at Decca Records include Ronan Keating, Katherine Jenkins and The Lumineers; while live agents United Talent also represent the likes of The Jonas Brothers, Christine & The Queens and Post Malone.
The band are due to announce UK and Ireland live dates soon, with UTA hoping that they will be able to tour “extensively in 2021/2022, once pandemic restrictions are lifted”.
