You’ll be in safe hands as influential music and media academic and author Dr Jennifer Otter-Bickerdike will be hosting the event, having worked with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Eminiem and Dr. Dre to name a few. She is also BIMM Institute’s Global Music Ambassador.

Speaking on the event, Dr Jennifer Otter-Bickerdike says: “I am so honoured to be hosting Bristol Sounds and Systems: Pursuing a Career in the Music Industry at BIMM Institute Bristol. It will be incredible to share the stage with some of my personal heroes and makers of the iconic soundscape of British music.
Bringing together everyone from Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award nominated Jeremy Pritchard of Everything Everything to Will Sergeant, founding member of the iconic Echo and the Bunnymen, with key media makers from the city should provide current and future students with a real-world and practical look at the plethora of career opportunities that this dynamic area offers”.
The event will also feature an exclusive and intimate in-conversation with Will Sergeant of Echo and the Bunnymen, Jeremy Pritchard of Everything Everything and Bristol based punk band Heavy Lungs.

There will be an arsenal of music industry professionals there to give advice to young creatives. Also giving their experiences and pearls of wisdom will be Emma Garland (Features Editor VICE UK), Roisin O’Connor (Music Correspondent, The Independent) and Richard Pitt (BBC Introducing). This will also showcase BIMM Institute’s Music Business, Event Management and brand-new Music Marketing, Media and Communication (MMMC) courses.
