Bristol Sounds reveals first round of headliners for 2024
Skindred, Gentleman’s Dub Club, The Skints and The Breeders are among the first headliners to be announced for Bristol Sounds 2024.
Returning this summer for its tenth anniversary, the open air series held at Lloyds Amphitheatre will, for the first time, host the city’s first all day open air rock event, celebrating legends of rock, reggae, punk and dub.
Organisers promise the three all-day events split over Saturday, June 22, Sunday, June 23 and Sunday, June 30 will help to make this “the biggest Bristol Sounds to date”. There are also more dates and artists yet to be announced – including another full day party and three evening shows.

Artists from all over the country and beyond will feature on the lineup alongside local names, including Bristol resident and DJ Count Skylarkin, mixing reggae with soul, dubstep and ska on Sunday 23. Glastonbury band Reef will also be taking to the stage on the Saturday.

Event promoter Conal Dodds of Crosstown Concerts said “We’re proud to announce our tenth anniversary of harbourside shows with a bill that represents the city’s diverse musical tastes and heritage.
“We’re really excited to bring some great names to play in one of Bristol’s best locations. 2024 is set to be the biggest Bristol Sounds to date. There will be four all day shows over consecutive weekends alongside three evening-only events.”
Tickets for Bristol Sounds will go on sale at 10am on Friday.
Saturday, June 22 will kick the event off with regga-metal jams from Skindred, treating Bristol rockers to a meteoric performance following their latest album release, Smile.
Sunday, June 23 will see Leeds-based Gentleman’s Dub Club headlining the Lloyds Amphitheatre, bringing their high energy sounds to Bristol alongside the “torchbearers of reggae music”, The Skints, renowned for their extensive touring and electric stage presence.

The lineup will also feature electronic and dub artist Dreadzone, West London reggae singer Hollie Cook, and Roots reggae artist Kiko Bun. The main stage will also feature the DJ-ing delights of Bristol resident Count Skylarkin, with a lineup of second stage DJs still to be announced.
If indie rock is more your thing, look out for tickets for Sunday, June 30, as Bristol Sounds partners up with multi-venue event Ritual Union for the celebration’s first ever “Ritual Union Presents” for an all-day indie rock event headlined by The Breeders. Supported by Ty Segall, the Californian psych-influence garage rocker, the day is guaranteed to shake the amphitheatre with a catalogue “as prolific as it is diverse”. Squid will support, fresh from two nights at SWX earlier this year.
