Bristol’s jazz week, September 17 – 23

By Tony Benjamin  Monday Sep 17, 2018

Another week full of jazz lovin’ treats, another week with technical problems for this listing – hence a new experimental layout … bear with us! For a fuller list of jazz highlights (in two parts) check here and here

Some very exciting younger talent is due to visit this week, with Tom Barford’s Asterope returning to Hen & Chicken (Sunday 23) and Jonathan Mansfield’s highly numerous Elftet coming to Future Inn (Thursday 20).

Meanwhile local heroes Get The Blessing launch Bristopia, their latest waxing with a proudly local theme at Wardrobe Theatre (Sunday 23), the highly cosmopolitan Julian Costello Quartet bring a blast of Eurocool to the Bebop Club and The Cube (Wednesday 19) celebrates the remarkable Fat Paul Horlick, one of Bristol’s less-sung musical heroes and a long-time promoter of the freest of jazz in the city.
