Brook Tate releases debut single

By Amy Grace  Thursday Nov 21, 2019

When Brook Tate isn’t busy working on his musical, Mr Maglump, or creating stunning oil paintings in his studio, he’s tinkering on his guitar and making new music. A much anticipated release from the folk/R&B artist,  deftly weaving jazz influences and melodies through a sea of luscious twang. At its core Dry Ground  is a minimalist and simple tune, with solely Brook playing guitar and allowing the lyrics to come forward and shine. Raspy vocal runs which are tinged with smooth soul which elevating the engaging lyrics and allow the listener to fully immerse themselves into Brook’s world. Speaking of the single, Brook explains:

“It feels right for Dry Ground to be my debut release. I’ve needed to acknowledge a loss before moving on and finding my feet. I don’t bite my tongue as much as I did in the past; it causes too much regret. And besides, I need it to sing.”
