Clifton International Festival of Music set to return in person next month
Renowned for its varied programme of classical music, the festival is set to return for the first time since 2019; it will be holding a range of events across Clifton Cathedral and St Paul’s Church for its week long run.
It has been a long time coming as people awaited the return of Bristol’s annual festival of world class classical music. After cancelling 2020’s festival, the team behind Clifton International Festival of Music started a crowdfunder compaign in preparation for 2021’s programme which, unfortunatley, was also cancelled due to the pandemic.
Celebrating classical music in all its forms, this year’s programme opens with a choral workshop with choir director and musicologist, Jeremy Summerly and closes with a star-studded line up of soloists who will be performing Mozart Requiem and Clarinet Concerto – the composer’s final two works.

Other events include a talk with Dr Shanyn Altman who will be exploring the poetry of John Donne and a performance from this year’s Artist-in-Residence Poppy Beddoe who will be taking to the stage for the first time for a night of music from the clarinet.
Tickets range from free to upto £20 with certain events offering student discounts. You can buy tickets here.
