Concert for Bristol Drugs Project
Bristol-based Jimmy Galvin is a successful composer, producer, arranger and visual artist who has exhibited alongside artists including Damien Hurst, Antony Gormley and Sir Peter Blake. He has also made a name for himself as a solo pianist, and was invited to perform his solo composition A Million Seconds Make Eleven Days on the BBC Radio 4 arts programme Loose Ends in 2018.N
On Thursday, November 25, Galvin is playing a solo piano concert in aid of the charity Bristol Drugs Project (BDP), which has for 35 years been working in numerous ways to support people suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.
BDP Creative Communities includes both a Recovery Orchestra and Recovery Choir, which provide the capacity, support and space for drug and alcohol users, or recovering addicts, to learn about and develop their own creative musical practice. All ticket proceeds from the event will be helping to ensure these groups can continue to run.

The concert is titled Frequency 528Hz, and will take place in St Stephens Church, an evocative and historic setting which dates from the 15th Century.
Galvin will be supported by three other musicians on the night. The group of artists is as follows:
- Jimmy Galvin – neo-classical solo piano
- Rounik Sethi – gong, singing bowls and sound bath
- Mark Ely – singer-songwriter, acoustic guitar
- Reverb – harp and voice duo

Frequency 528Hz is at St Stephen’s Church, 21 St Stephen’s St, BS1 1EQ at 7pm on Thursday, November 25. Tickets are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk and are £10, or £15 on the door.
