Creative lockdown: Bare Jams
Bare Jams are part of the ongoing Bristol24/7 Creative Lockdown series, showcasing how people in Bristol have been getting arty under lockdown.
Bristol-band Bare Jams has written a Covid-19 song and created a music video of themselves performing it in PPE, in the hope of sharing some joy.
The six-piece band, known for singing a mixture of reggae, dub, soul and pop, said: “Watch it, share it, learn the words and do as it tells you! Hold tight all the NHS heroes and frontline soldiers, we salute you!”

Ollie Coombes , Sam James , Dave Tyler , Josh Parmenter , Seb Skelly , Oscar Ives-Owen and Jake Heath, who live across Bristol in Easton, Clifton, Southville and Fishponds wanted to “spread a positive message in bleak times”.
The song comes after the band had to delay the physical release of their new album This ‘n’ That – it will still be released digitally on May 2, however – and cancel their release parties.
“We also fell into some free time and wanted to be creative, both of these things went hand in hand,” say the band. “We are thinking of doing another video, maybe not Covid related though.”
They hope the song brings some joy and lightness to people during the pandemic.
