Final Noise Annoys gig of the year
The last of our Bristol promoter Noise Annoys’ regular run of monthly nights climaxes in a four band extravaganza at the Thunderbolt tonight.
Featuring two Bristol bands, Nasty Little Lonely and Forgery Lit, and two Midlands acts, Wax Futures and Fauxchisels the night promises to be a blinder – and is a bargain at just £4.
Noise Annoys has been going since May, running the first Thursday of every month since (excluding August). They’ve mostly put on bands from Bristol but had a few from further afield – including Gag Reflex from Cheltenham and Grubs have members from London and Devon as well as Bristol.
is needed now More than ever
Ben Tansey, of Noise Annoys, said: “The ethos behind the night is to support a style of music – alt, noise, post-punk – is under-represented in Bristol. We’ve got so many great bands in this city playing this kind of music but not many venues willing to promote it. It’s a fairly small, grass roots-y thing but it’s going fairly well. We’re looking to expand into a label and will release a compilation in the spring. We’ve got exclusives from a lot of the bands who have played the night over the year.”
Noise Annoys first Saturday night show takes place on Feb 7th – featuring two more bands from the Midlands, Them Wolves (currently out on tour with Pulled Apart By Horses) and Table Scraps, as well as Bristol’s Downard.
