The first look inside Rough Trade Bristol

By Rhys Buchanan  Monday Dec 11, 2017

It might be a chilly Monday morning but that hasn’t stopped Bristol’s vinyl lovers risking the cold to visit the brand new Rough Trade, only the fifth Rough Trade in the world after London, New York and Nottingham.

A few names already announced to play at the new 4,500 sq ft shop on Nelson Street including Idles, Hookworms, Django Django and Field Music.

Rough Trade stocks a vast array of vinyl and CDs spanning every genre

There is a wide selection of books from Penguin classics to new titles

The first few shoppers arrived soon after the doors opened at 9am on Monday

Idles will be the first band to play in the event space on Saturday, December 16

Rough Trade Bristol’s cafe and bar. Well, record buying is thirsty work!

“As our stores have grown in size and popularity, so has their scope and ability to embrace a wider celebration of independent thinking, creativity and fearless self-expression, from literature to DIY technology,” the Rough Trade website says.

“Fundamentally, our stores provide creative, independent minds a shared place of discovery and congregation.”
