A Bristol band who sing in Mandarin have filmed their latest music video in a hot air balloon floating over the city.
As well as promoting Transition’s new single Sky Lantern and upcoming tour to China, the video also hopes to promote Bristol and was made with the backing of city tourism body Destination Bristol.
Mostly unknown in their home country, Transition are growing a considerable fanbase in the Far East who will now thanks to the video see the delights of the Avon Gorge, Downs, Clifton Suspension Bridge and also Ashton Gate.
is needed now More than ever
They are the first British band to write and release an original Mandarin album, with Kua Yue staying in the Taiwanese indie top-five for a month and the band writing the official song for the Chinese Taipei Olympic team at the London Olympics.
Transition’s Josh Edbrooke said: “When we travel to Asia we often find that the only city people know of in the UK is London, so hopefully this music video gives us quite a natural platform for showing off some of the best parts of our hometown to the fans there.
“Not only does Bristol look nice from the air, but it’s a creative place that’s willing to do things differently, like filming a music video in a balloon!”
