Hacienda Classical with Manchester Camerata to open Glastonbury ahead of Bristol Sounds

By Sammy Jones  Wednesday May 3, 2017

Described as one of Britain’s most adventurous orchestras, Hacienda Classical with Manchester Camerata have made a name for themselves by melding classical music with rave bangers. While it might sound like the kind of idea you might have after a large night out, the epic performances they’ve turned out over the past two years have shown they’re far more than just a gimmick.

Further proof of their appeal has just been announced – the orchestra and accompanying choir will play the opening slot of the Pyramid Stage at this year’s sold-out Glastonbury Festival. Promising a magnificent performance to get the festival underway, the orchestra will visit the mega-festival on the Friday night before heading to Bristol’s Harbourside on the Saturday as part of Bristol Sounds.

The Bristol Sounds series was recently unveiled with Hacienda Classical with Manchester Camerata, The Manic Street Preachers, Craig David and Bonobo all headlining on consecutive dates at the end of June.
