Howling Owl join indie labels for RSD release

By Laura Williams  Thursday Mar 5, 2015

One of Bristol’s most well-known record labels has collaborated on an exciting compilation record to be released on Record Store Day 2015.

Curated by Alcopop! Records, the Sensible Record Labels compilation features some of the coolest indie labels out there including Bristol’s own Howling Owl Records. Each label has picked a track by one of their artists for inclusion on the record.

The record is limited to 500 copies and comprises a splatter clear vinyl and costs just £10; it includes download card containing up to 150mb of content from each label. It also features tracks from artists on Bella Union, Transgressive, Fat Cat, Fierce Panda, Memphis Industries, Fortuna Pop.

Jack Clothier, owner of Alcopop! said: “We’re hoping that amid the reissues, expensive singles and re-pressed rarities, we can genuinely open people up to a new way of thinking, and encourage indie fans to delve into rosters of labels they may not already be aware of, becoming further involved the beating heart of our UK indie scene.”
