Idles play two sell-out homecoming gigs at Louisiana
After some 626 days – not that they were counting – Idles took to the stage in The Louisiana for their first live gig in almost two years.
The sell-out performances at the Wapping Road venue on Monday and Tuesday took place ahead of the band’s big homecoming headline show on The Downs.
A triumphant Friendly Records team, who put on the two back-to-back gigs, posted on their Facebook page after Monday night, saying: “Hard to put tonight into words!
is needed now More than ever
“Endless thanks to IDLES and all that came and celebrated with us tonight.”

One Monday night gig-goer, John McGee, described the performance as “a fantastic return to live music”.
The Idles album Ultra Mono went to number one last year and became the fastest-selling vinyl release of the year but it had not been played to a live audience because the band’s sold-out tour was pushed back to 2022.
