Inaugural Hotwells Festival featuring musicians, poets, writers and performers
A conversation in the pub between friends was the start of a new festival celebrating literature, art and music in Hotwells.
The inaugural Hotwells Festival runs from Friday to Sunday, coinciding with the West Bristol Arts Trail.
The festival’s HQ is at the Nova Scotia pub, with other venues including Underfall Yard, the Merchants Arms and the Eldon House.
is needed now More than ever
“We’re bringing much-needed live performance back to town, and bringing custom and new audiences into local pubs,” Hotwells Festival organisers say.
“The artists need to perform, the pubs need people, we all need each other! It’s one big artistic love-in!”
Festival highlights include:
- Angus Barr and Natalie Fee promising to save the planet using only cheap stringed instruments and their voices
- poetry and song from Molly Cheek
- sea shanties with The Roaring Trowmen
- morris dancing by the Taters & Tails
- poet and novelist Maunagh Kelly
- The Bristol Brass Consort
