Jeff Mills, Joy Orbison and more announced for Bristol open air party
It seems summer is truly on its way, and with it, a huge outdoor party has just been announced at Motion set for this August. Featuring a cast of some of the world’s most respected DJs as well as a couple of names from closer to home, this is Motion’s biggest and most ambitious outdoor event to date.

Heading the bill is Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills, whose work has informed every generation of electronic music makers since he started spinning over thirty years ago. Lower down on the bill, fans of the outrageous will find something to love between another Detroit export Seth Troxler and the ever-extroverted Bristol institution Eats Everything.
Joy Orbison, Daniel Avery, Midland and Axel Boman will also be in attendance showcasing why they’re seemingly permanently placed at the top of every festival bill going this summer. For those craving more of a Bristol flavour, representatives from DJ collective Housework, Daisy Moon, Golesworthy and Gramrcy and Motion resident Em Williams will be selecting the eclectic tunes that have made them a hot ticket across Europe.
is needed now More than ever
If that wasn’t enough to be getting on with, Yard have a couple of live acts to entertain you too. Brooklyn-based artist Maya Bouldry-Morrison will expand your horizons as she performs as Octo Octa, and boundary-pushing producer Tobias Freund will show off why he’s known as Berlin’s most versatile electronic artist.
For those who are familiar with superclub Motion, we can tell you the launch event and the subsequent exciting bookings will take over the Container Yard, Crane Yard and Lock Yard.
Yard is a collaboration between some of the city’s most established dance music institutions, and knowing what they can do independently, we can’t wait to see how this collective effort makes the Bristol club scene shine.
Yard Open Air Club takes place at Motion on Saturday, August 26. For more information, visit www.yardopenairclub.eventgenius.co.uk
