John E Vistic to release new EP
He’s been a staple on the Bristol music scene for years and after months in the studio, John E Vistic is set to release a new EP.
What Will Be, which features a handful of songs off a forthcoming album, is released by Black Heart Studios on June 22.
The Australian raised singer-songwriter, who has lived in Bristol for years, makes psychedelic country folk, laden with soul and thought provoking literary lyrics. Think Hozier and Johnny Cash meets The Doors with more than a dash of Jack White.
is needed now More than ever
Produced by Tristan Longworth (Jon Allen, The Third Degree etc.) EP tracks range from the Vera Lynn inspired opener What Will Be, to the bottom-of-the-glass fatalism of Gamblin’ Man. The spaced out existentialist psych-rock of I Wait for No Man is followed by a new acoustic bootleg version of Vistic’s electric crowd-pleasers Til My Loneliness Has Gone.
One of the stand-out tracks Long Time Gone features fellow Bristol vocalist Katey Brooks in a beautiful duet, a classic in the making.
The new John E Vistic EP is a collection of tracks from the forthcoming album Welcome Down the Night.
