José González to headline Valley Fest 2017

By Sammy Jones  Thursday May 18, 2017

An appearance at Valley Fest 2017 has been announced as José González’s first UK date this year. It’ll be one of only two UK dates, and will see him headline an environment like no other – the ethereal lakeside setting of Chew Valley Lake as part of Valley Fest 2017.

While González is known best for his affecting acoustic cover of the The Knife’s Heartbeats, the rest of his output is just as magical. The spell-binding Argentinian-Swedish singer-songwriter manages to turn just his voice and a guitar into something astonishing again and again.

“We’re thrilled to have José González playing with us in August. It is the perfect setting for him and promises to be a truly remarkable event, listening to his ethereal music drifting across the lake, I’m sure it will be spine-tingling.” Festival organiser Luke Hasell commented.

José joins an already stellar line-up for this year’s Valley Fest which takes place August 4-6 on The Community Farm in the Chew Valley. This Is The Kit, ICHI, Goan Dogs, Elder Island, Afriquoi, The Breath, Manu Delago & Pete Josef, Lau and The Fantasy Orchestra, plus many more will perform, and all sorts for both kids and adults is planned over the August weekend.
