Kinks frontman Ray Davies to play in Bristol
Colston Hall have confirmed that Ray Davies will grace their stage this July. Tickets go on sale on Friday February 6 at 10am.
The Kinks lead singer and songwriter comes to Bristol as one of just a few selective dates this year.
One of the defining rock bands of the 60s, The Kinks were early innovators of punk rock and helped pave the way artists like The Clash, Sex Pistols and Ramones who dominated youth subcultures of the 70s. Britpop giants of the 90s, Blur and Oasis, have also cited them as a massive influence.
The charismatic frontman and prolific songwriter was presented with a CBE for services to music in 2004, and last year was inducted into the illustrious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Kinks’ lengthy discography includes: You Got Me, All Day and All of the Night, Waterloo Sunset, Sunny Afternoon, Dedicated Follower of Fashion and (la-la-la-la) Lola.
Fans can expect to hear Kinks hits, Kinks classics and songs from his last few solo albums.
Ray Davies will play at Colston Hall on Tuesday 21 July. General release tickets go on sale at 10am, Friday 6 February. Available from the Colston Hall website.
