Lady of the House announce new 2024 cultural exhibition

Lady of the House is set to return with a brand new cultural exhibition, following its successful debut in 2022.

The Bristol based community and organisation promoting, celebrating and championing women in dance music are hosting the new event: Looking Back and Looking Forward Within Dance Music.

Taking place on February 17 at Lakota, the day kicks off with a conversation between the Queen of House, Barbara Tucker, and renowned music historian, Ian Snowball.

The duo will delve deep into the legacy and historical significance of dance music.

Music journalist and author, Matt Annis, will lead an interactive session passionately discussing the art of researching and documenting electronic music history.

Assisting Annis will be industry veteran, Miranda Rae, the UKs 1st full time female radio presenters who pioneered dance music on the radio.

Coming back to the present moment, three accomplished women below will share their journey and the challenges they overcame to reach their current positions: Ngaio Anyia (DJ, producer, vocalist, activist), Marti Burgess (Venue Owner of Lakota), DJ Lady Sanchez (DJ Crystal Love Radio).

The day will conclude with a Q&A and 1-2-1 guidance on employment & career paths from industry professionals, Laila Mckenzie (Lady of the House Founder) and Zeina Raad (Love Saves the Day & Valley Fest Marketing Director).

The event is free to attend.
