Lady of the House launch record label and competition for women and non-binary stars

By Issy Packer  Friday Jun 10, 2022

After the successful cultural exhibition for International Women’s Day this year, Lady of The House have announced a month long competition to find future stars of electronic music.

Running from 27 May to 30 June, the competition will be welcoming ‘Godmothers’ from the electronic dance music scene, including DJ & producer, Sam Divine, Radio 1’s Charlie Tee and Brit Dance Act 2022 winner, Becky Hill as A&Rs for the label. They will be selecting the best tracks from all electronic music genres submitted during the competition.

The competition will see the four best submissions released on the new record label with each winner gaining support and mentorship from leading industry experts. As well as this, each winner will have the opportunity to play at upcoming LoTH events, have their track remixed by a globally renowned artist and the opportunity to be exclusively signed to the label.

Founder of Lady of the House, Laila Mckenzie says “This is the next step in its evolution – the equaliser in action. There is so much talent, passion and hunger out there, we can not wait to embody it all through the label.

It’s going to be lots of hard work but the industry really really needs this as does the scene. We are honored to have 4 incredible dance music connoisseurs as our 1st round of A&R Godmothers  – I know we are going to find some really really good stuff, bring it on!”
