Massive Attack full lineup announced

By Rose Clark  Friday Aug 12, 2016

Savages and Khruangbin are joining Massive Attack for their one-day festival on the Downs in September.

They will be playing on the same stage as Primal Scream and Skepta, who were announced earlier this year.

The sold-out event will also have a second stage celebrating Bristol’s dance music scene. This will include pioneers of the Bristol sound, Smith & Mighty – most recently seen on the Bristol24/7 stage at Brisfest – along with Reprazent Collective member DJ Krust.

“We’re so happy to finally announce the full lineup of artists for the first music festival on the Downs in 15 years,” says festival organiser Tom Paine.

Post-punk band Savages and Texas band Khruangbin both played in Bristol last year at Simple Things

This isn’t the end of the announcements though, with more big name acts still be announced as well as details about the Information Stage, which Paine describes as “where some great speakers will be taking to the stage to discuss how we can all make a positive impact on both local and global socio-political issues”.

The event, which takes place on the Downs on September 3, sold out in under two hours, but organisers are encouraging fans who missed out to check to check online for resales.
