Meanwhlie In Bat Country release new single
Meanwhile In Bat Country are quickly cementing themselves as one of the city’s most diverse acts, they contort twangy Americana, synthesize new grooves and carve out a stylistic sound to cinematic soundscapes that resemble epic soundtracks.
They are back in action with their second release, ‘The Smoke That Thunders’. The eight minute odyssey is a tale of two halves, beginning with cosmic synths and sound effects – only heightened by the woozy four part harmonies. It’s cinematic and grandiose, packed with rugged guitar riffs and slick bass lines. Accompanying the single is a video which was edited by the band.
The vocal performance from Paul Hodgson is delivered with a raspy undertone, the chorus is a dark mantra-like plea which deals with the notion of mortality and impermanence. The candid and sincere message is what sets the band apart from their contemporaries, delivering serious themes in a triumphant way.
