Roni Size Reprazent play Love Saves The Day
Roni Size Reprazent have been announced as Sunday headliners for Love Saves The Day, which returns for its fourth outing on May 23 and 24.
The live drum and bass collective, whose debut album New Forms won the Mercury Prize in 1997, are one of Bristol’s biggest musical exports and join a lineup that’s already packed with big names.
The announcement is the festival’s second big announcement in as many days, coming just 24 hours after Groove Armada were revealed as the headliners for Saturday night. The production duo – known for millennial anthems Superstylin and I See You Baby – were surprise additions to the lineup along with Numbers mainman Jackmaster, soundsystem stalwarts Jah Chaka and Channel One, and radio reggae specialist David Rodigan OBE.
Groove Armada top a Saturday bill that includes pop-soul sensation Jessie Ware alongside clubland giants Âme, Craig Richards, Gorgon City and Julio Bashmore. Roni Size Reprazent lead an equally impressive Sunday lineup with support from Azealia Banks, Wiley, Skepta, Four Tet, Shy FX and Grandmaster Flash. Bristol talent also features heavily throughout the weekend, from Julio Bashmore to Pinch, Joker and Jus Now.
“We’re upping our game with a new home, our best line-up yet and a bigger, better festival”, says festival director Tom Paine. “We can really spread our wings in Eastville Park so this marks the beginning of a new era for Love Saves The Day.”
Love Saves The Day will see over 300 acts perform across six stages to 30,000 people. Weekend tickets are already sold out but day tickets are available from www.lovesavestheday.org.
