New SWX music venue takes over Syndicate club
Just days after Syndicate nightclub in Bristol City Centre announced it was closing for good – a new owner has been revealed.
The 1,800 capacity nightclub in Broadmead, will re-open on September 5 as SWX – an exciting new large live music venue.
Recruitment is now underway to secure a full team of bar staff, promoters and box office staff. There’s an open day on Friday, August 21, at noon where you can go along and find out more. Details are on their Facebook page.
is needed now More than ever
Syndicate – a staple of the city’s clubbing scene – revealed its closure recently with a heartfelt message on the Facebook page. It read: “As we’re sure some of you may of heard or noticed we’ve been having work done on site over the last few weeks.
“We regret to inform you that after nine amazing years, 3.5 million people through our doors and some of the most memorable parties in Bristol, we will be closing our doors for the last time.”
The news came as figures show half of the UK’s night clubs have been forced to close their doors over the past year – with others diversifying their offer to include more live music and festivals. Read more about this in our festival season feature.
In a similar move last year, one of the city’s best known clubs, Motion, teamed up with a new music venue – The Marble Factory – which has hosted some of the best gigs in the city this past year.
