Party in the Garden returns to raise money for Bristol Children’s Hospital
The event was originally a street closure running from 2000 to 2015, known as the Party On The Hill.
It was always well attended and had been conceived to raise funds for the Bristol Children’s Hospital and specifically, in those early years, the Cardiac Care Unit.
The event has taken place on the Sunday of August bank holiday weekend every year.
is needed now More than ever
The long-running event have relied heavily upon sponsorship in one form or another, particularly from Young’s Brewery, the Highbury Vaults pub where the next event will be held, and other donations towards the Prize Draw.
As time went by, costs became prohibitively high for Party On The Hill with the event barely breaking and subsquently not being able to donate any profits to the charity.
2016 saw the first downsized event held in the garden of the Highbury Vaults thus Party In The Garden was born.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021. However, last year saw the resumption of Party In The Garden to successful applause and the team are ready to go again.
Live music kicks off at 2pm and continues throughout the day from the likes of Kosta Burgess, Peter & The Wolves, Emily Price, Rita Lynch, Owen-Francis Black and Jarnola Chain Quartet.
Tony Wood will be DJ’ing throughout the day and there will be a BBQ running all day for you to sink your teeth into while watching some live music.
The charity prize draw will be kicking off at 6pm.
Running from 12pm until 10pm, the event promises to be a full day of live music, dance, raffles and fun, all for a good cause.
