By Theo Watt  Tuesday Jul 14, 2015

Portishead have announced a surprise show at the Cardiff University Students’ Union on Thursday.

Founding member Geoff Barrow broke the news on Twitter last night, dropping a series of hints before confirming the group’s plans to play across the bridge.

The gig has been announced as a warm-up performance to their headline slot at Latitude fesitval this weekend.

Barrow also surprised fans by offering guest tickets for the show to those living furthest away from the gig.

He tweeted: “Got a small amount of my guest tickets to give away for our Portishead club gig in Cardiff on Thursday night.”

He added: “Actually… tell me where you coming from to see us and the further away you are I will sort your ticket!! @Portisheadinfo”

Tickets for Thursday’s performance have already sold out online at Bristol Ticket Shop, but more are available from the store.
