Adrian Utley and John Parish announce Trinity Anthem
Tuesday April, 4 will see Adrian Utley & John Parish performing and recording the Trinity Anthem along with 15 other musicians at Trinity Centre in a bid to raise funds for the essential repairs that need to be made to the iconic Trinity towers and building estimated at £3/4 million.
The Anthem, which has been written by Utley and Parish, is a celebration of Trinity’s musical heritage spanning 40 years and will be available as a limited edition vinyl press and as a download for donation.

Adrian Utley is best known for being one third of Portishead, a successful Bristol trip hop band that launched the recognisable Bristol Sound in the late 90s, alongside Massive Attack and Tricky, amongst others. John Parish, a composer, producer, artist and collaborator, has contributed to over fifty albums in the last twenty years, toured globally with PJ Harvey, Eels and his own bands and written music for film, television and stage.
The Trinity Centre is a Grade II* listed Georgian building that is home to Trinity Community Arts that Adrian and John support, both have performed at Trinity in the past; Adrian with Portishead, both with Adrian’s Guitar Orchestra and support Trinity Community Arts as well as the conservation project.
Trinity provides opportunities for the local community to engage with and influence Bristol Arts and run music training projects for young people to engage with music, often at critical times in their lives. Since 2009 Trinity Community Arts have invested almost 1 million pounds in repair and renovation and provided over 3,356 hours of free space for 229 community activities with over 60,000 people accessing centre annually.
