By Miles Arnold  Friday May 13, 2022

Bristol rapper K*Ners has released a music video for his 2021 track titled This Is From Bristol, premiered on his label KSTAR’s Vevo.

The track is an ode to old school hip-hop, with a steady beat backed up by a pitched up Motown-esque vocals, reminiscent of Kanye West’s old productions.

In the track, K*Ners dives into the history surrounding St Paul’s, the area of Bristol he grew up in.

He mentions the controversial 1980 St Paul’s riots, during which police raided the Black and White café on Grosvenor Road and 130 people were arrested.

The entire video is filmed in the surrounding area, with black and white shots of landmarks in the area such as the St Paul’s Community Centre and City Road.

The rapper is also shown posing with Jeff Knight, the well-loved community member who was facing deportation in February amid outcry from the local community.

The video is also peppered with portrait videos taken by the artist on his phone, from live performances at festivals to him relaxing on a boat in the sun.

The track is available to stream across streaming platforms.
