Review: Michael Buble, Royal Crescent – ‘The show was a celebration of joy and love’
The Canadian multi award-winning megastar Michael Bublé performed a long-awaited show for the first time at the iconic Royal Crescent in Bath over the weekend, after three years of postponing and cancelling.
The majestic Georgian terraced houses built over 240 years ago were the perfect setting for such an event, absolutely matching Bublé’s elegance and greatness. The Royal Crescent offers a beautiful garden where people could sit on the grass waiting for the set to start while enjoying the beautiful sun that was shining that day.
Michael Bublé opened the night with the cover of Feeling Good, he is much famous for. As the first notes began, you could hear the crowd awakening. The quality of his vocal live performance, as powerful and grandiose as his recordings, was extremley impressive.
is needed now More than ever
A whole orchestra was seconding him on a staired white stage reminding me of old Cab Calloway’s shows, sublimating Michael Bublé’s jazzy performance.
Walking down the stairs in his smart black and white suit, he manages to marry older jazz vibes with a contemporary pop touch, all without overdoing it. He’s naturally got the groove inside of him and it spread effortlessly among his audience.
Hits after hits, he left no time to rest to the crowd, acclaiming and all singing together every single song from Haven’t Met You Yet to Home, Everything, Beautiful Day and Hold On.

In between each song, Bublé enjoyed to talk to the crowd, involving them constantly, telling them stories and making everyone laugh. Indeed, the gentleman is also a showman, as he dances and jumps around so comfortably like the stage is home, supported by three choristers and breathtaking musicians, all following his lead.
As the night started falling, Bublé paid a moving tribute to Elvis who is one of his biggest influences, with a medley of songs including Fever and Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, and he honored each of them the most beautiful possible way.
He concluded the show with Cry Me A River, Save The Last Dance For Me, How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You and Always On My Mind, which moved the crowd greatly.
This show was, before anything else, a celebration of joy and love, and Michael Bublé reminded everyone why he is so much more than just a Christmas hits singer. An honest gifted man who has got so much to give by the means of his stunning soulful voice and genuine love for music. A night Bath will not forget.
