Review: Try Me, The Louisiana – ‘Soaked in silliness and non-stop joy’
With an album cover featuring the pair sprinting naked down Whiteladies Road, it was hardly a surprise when Hector Boogeyman and Bendy Wendy put on a hedonistic and mischievous performance at the Louisiana.
Flanked by a giant cardboard clock and clothed in matching salopettes and braces, the Louisiana was rippling with energy as Try Me sang, shouted and romped around the stage.
Launching their latest single, Road Runner, the artists delivered catchy, feel-good bops filled with retro snyths and infectious silly lyrics on Friday with an energy that poured into the crowd.

Behind the shell suits and the swimming goggles are Miles Hutchinson and Molly Vivian – two musicians and former BIMM students who burst onto Bristol’s music scene in 2019.
The pair are best known for their energetic live performances at The Fleece, Crofters Rights and The Old England.

On that muggy night in Redcliffe, Try Me’s signature disco-punk went down a treat with their mischievous personalities and driving 90’s beats – deftly meandering topics from inadequacy to mortality and avocados.
