Samantha Lindo releases new single

By Amy Grace  Thursday Feb 27, 2020

Following up from her previous single ‘Turn and Leave’ which was released at the tail end of last year, neo-soul songstress Samantha Lindo has been busy recording her next hit. The glistening ‘Underside’ sees Samantha teaming up with the mental health campaign Time To Change (run by national charities Mind and Rethink).

‘Underside’ was written for a friend of Samantha’s that was suffering with PTSD, speaking of the writing process, she explains: “The track was written for my friend who was struggling. I wanted to welcome and celebrate her honesty and vulnerability as it is those things that both deepen relationships and also start to heal the hurt and the video, through a simple performance, maps the journey out of this shadowy isolation”.

Produced by Bristol heavyweights DJ Bunjy (founder of Laid Blak) and international producer Chris Gould, the song reaches new heights with uppercuts of gospel and R&B. Remaining rooted in neo-soul, there are clear nods to subtle electronica and jazz, Samantha showcases all of these influences in one tender track.
