StoryMongers perform Shakespeare’s sonnets soundtracked by guitar and Native American flute
Fans of Shakespeare’s sonnets, live music and artistic fusion need look no further than the upcoming StoryMongers evening at Totterdown’s historic Old Picture House on July 7.
Accompanied on guitar by virtuoso performer Phil Gibbs, StoryMongers founder Eddy Martin – an actor who has graced the stages of Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory Theatres and The Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath among others – will be narrating a selection of The Bard’s most famous sonnets.
Soundtracked by Native American flute sounds from Dave Merrick’s award-winning Five Moods of a Canyon, Martin will then interpret each sonnet in modern language for a contemporary audience.

Following this will be a live Native American flute and guitar set from Merrick and Clive Mills – jointly known as Inner Voice.
Alongside the music and spoken word, the performers will be making use of The Old Picture House big screen to project jaw-dropping scenes and skies from New Mexico.
