Submerge Festival: highlights video, call for artists

By Steve Wright  Friday May 5, 2017

Submerge, the immersive digital and audiovisual arts and music festival which made its debut in Bristol last year, has announced that it will return in 2018 – and will feature a large digital light and sound work, in a historic Bristol landmark, as its centrepiece.

The first Submerge, last November, presented musicians such as Koreless and Octo Octa alongside artists such as FK Alexander and Olivier de Sagazan, famous for his performance in the indie film Samsara. Submerge has released a film of highlights from the 2016 debut festival:

The next festival takes place in March 2018, and the Submerge team are looking to hear from artists and performers within the digital, audiovisual, electronic and live spheres, as well as from venues and sponsors interested in supporting the festival.

Submerge is the first festival of its kind in Bristol, presenting a hybrid mix of local and international digital art, performance art and electronic music rarely seen in the south-west. The festival presents artists and musicians in mixed bills, and offers audiences diverse, visceral and immersive art experiences.
