The Exchange host Bristol Ticket Shop Fundraiser
The recent announcement that Bristol Ticket Shop will be shutting its doors after 32 years of trade was greeted with dismay across the city’s music scene.
In various different locations, the shop been a staple for keen gig-goers throughout the city ever since opening in 1988.
In true Bristolian fashion, we didn’t take the news of the shop’s closure as a final answer. Heaps of people went online to voice their sadness with the Exchange following suit and announcing a crowdfunding campaign.
is needed now More than ever
With the blessing of those involved at Bristol Ticket Shop, the Exchange have set up the crowdfunder to raise funds in their name to help cover the costs of ticket sales for events which are being organised by other independent and local organisations.
The aim will be to “honor the legacy of Bristol Ticket Shop by continuing to take care of those affected by the closure”.
This will see a benefit gig at the Exchange on January 24, followed by another benefit gig at Rough Trade hosted by Emily Breeze on January 25. It’s a double whammy of gigs for a great cause.
