The Gurt Lush Choir celebrates ten years
The Gurt Lush Choir, mixes community voices with daring harmonies and techniques. Running since 2009, the choir bring the city’s communities together, performing live acapella at some of Bristol’s top venues.
Growing in numbers every year, the group has become one of the largest open-access choirs in the country, being referred to ‘The Mighty Lush’ by many across the city.
The choir is supportive and friendly, reminding people of the true nature of community while filling every space they can with their radiating voices at the same.

Celebrating their ten year anniversary in 2019, the The Gurt Lush Choir has collaborated with a number of artists and groups over the last decade, including Bristol Schools Philharmonia, Andy Sheppard, Sam Lee and Project Zulu.
The choir’s extensive repertoire gives a sense of the variety they perform, from Mas Que Nada to All You Need is Love.
With newcomers greeted with a warm welcome no matter what their singing ability is, choir membership starts from £40 a term and is free for under 18 year olds. Rehearsals are at different times and locations across the city, making the choir as accessible as possible.
