The Jam Jar boosted by Arts Council England grant
The Jam Jar has received funding through Arts Council England’s ‘Supporting Grassroots Live Music’ scheme to help it engage musicians from underrepresented backgrounds at its monthly Jam event.
The funding will allow the venue on Little Ann Street in St Jude’s to engage and support musicians from a multitude of backgrounds to participate in their monthly Jam event.
It will also support the purchase of professional audio and lighting equipment for use throughout the project. Additionally there will be funded placements for new audio and lighting technicians to gain experience in the live environment.
is needed now More than ever
Hadie Abido, co-founder & director said: “In The Jam Jar’s nine year history as a grassroots venue, this is one of the most significant offerings of support and validation we have received.
This award will help us to reach into the communities that really need support & make sure are able to provide a leg up to some brilliant artists.
We are overcome with gratitude, and vow to do our utmost to make this funding count for Bristol, and the UK’s incredible creative community.”
