A new take on classical concerts

By Rachel Morris  Tuesday Apr 14, 2015

Classical music, with pint, in Motion nightclub (kind of).

The Age of Enlightenment Orchestra presents The Night Shift: a contemporary take on classical concerts; designed to move away from the stuffy, traditional idea of what a classical concert should be.

Usually performing out of the Southbank Centre, The Nightshift comes to Motion’s little sister, the Marble Factory with an hour-long classical concert, bookended by other live performances and DJs.

Expect to hear Bach, Haydn and Mozart – some music that Night Shift violinist Matt Truscott describes as “heavy shit”.
