Tribute night announced for Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchinson
A night in memory of Scott Hutchison, the lead singer of Scottish indie-folk band Frightened Rabbit will take place at The Kingsdown Vaults next month.
Following a long and public battle with his mental health Scott Hutchinson took his own life last week. His songs are renowned and much loved for their honest, heart-wrenching storytelling, but also for the comforting and uplifting effect they have had on listeners since they first came onto the scene in 2006.
This night aims to celebrate the life and music of Scott by bringing together various musicians, fans, friends, supporters, and anyone else to share and enjoy Frightened Rabbit’s music. The intention is to raise awareness of mental health issues and encourage conversation with those who are suffering. All proceeds raised will be going to a mental health and life-saving charity.
is needed now More than ever
A wide selection of songs will be taken from across their back catalogue and played by a collaborative live band featuring various members of Bristol-based bands. The event is free entry but donations are heavily encouraged.
Organiser David Huntriss has said, “Frightened Rabbit’s music has soundtracked the past ten years of my life and I have so many happy memories and associations with it. I’ve always wanted to get together with some friends and cover some of their songs for fun. Now seems a suitable time to get together, celebrate the music and raise some money for charities supporting treatment of mental illness and also suicide-prevention.
Tribute to Scott Hutchinson will take place on June 6 at The Kingsdown Vaults.
