101 knitted dalmations
The old adage never to work with children or animals may not have been in common parlance when Dodie Smith wrote The One Hundred and One Dalmations in 1961.
A theatrical version of Smith’s novel is the Tobacco Factory’s Christmas production this year.
And to avoid working with too many animals, producers are asking audiences to get involved and knit a dalmation that can decorate the theatre during the show.
is needed now More than ever
“We’re looking to gather as many donated dalmatians as possible by the end of October, so if you’re nifty with a needle or want to have a go, we need you,” said 101 Dalmations assistant producer Jojo Townsend.
There are a range of different patterns from easy to difficult and including a crochet pattern, and all dalmatian donors will go into a prize draw to win a family ticket to see the show.
