Bristol Improv Theatre launch storytelling game
As England continues to live under lockdown, Bristol Improv Theatre is adapting to the challenging circumstances.
The theatre, which is located in Clifton, has hosted all of its classes and shows online since March 2020. Its latest offering, Well That Escalated Quickly (WTEQ), sees the theatre launch a virtual storytelling game.
Designed for all ages, WTEQ is a programme for all ages and is suitable for novices.
is needed now More than ever
“Whilst the challenges of navigating through lockdowns and tier restrictions continue into 2021, the Bristol Improv Theatre has been embracing a foray into opportunities online to combat the continued closure of our theatre,” says Amy Iles, who works at the theatre.
“As a result, we are delighted to announce a new online, interactive, storytelling game; Well That Escalated Quickly.”

Sessions will run from February 6-27 and will be guided by staff from the theatre. A multiplayer, interactive storytelling game, while its designed and facilitated by the Bristol Improv Theatre, is led and played by participants.
“Your mundane task is suddenly interrupted by an epic adventure,” the team says. “You need to clean out the garage, but your evil twin keeps getting in the way… and if that wasn’t bad enough an asteroid is on a collision course with earth.
“A host of different scenarios, obstacles and unexpected twists and turns are thrown your way as you work in your team to try to stop things from escalating too quickly.”

Shows will take place at 8pm on Fridays and 4pm and 8pm on Saturdays and cost £20 each.
WTEQ is taking place alongside the theatre’s myriad of offerings. From writing comedy sketches to yoga and improv, intimacy in the world of improv to playing cute characters, the theatre continues to offer a huge range of unexpected virtual fun.
