Bristol’s brand new drag night launches in November
Hold on to your seats, there’s a brand new drag night in town. Category is…, launches on November 18 at The Old Market Assembly.
The bi-quarterly show will highlight some of the best drag queens and queer cabaret performers on the UK and European drag scene, with the first show themed around witches and all thing spooky.
The first show is entitled Hubble Bubble You’re in Trouble, a title inspired by the comedy horror favourite, Hocus Pocus starring Bette Midler.

Host of the show, Alyssa Van Delle (pictured above), says: “Bristol is one of the best places to live in in the UK. The city is known for being welcoming, diverse, multi-cultural and accepting in so many ways; we though it was about time we give Bristol the event it deserves and show there is a side of drag”.

Meth is one of Britain’s leading drag queens
Audiences can expect a safe place and a show brimming with pure queer talent with performers ranging from drag queens to bio queens, dancers and singers plus two of Italy’s most famous cabaret performers. “We’ve made sure to include as many types of performance as we can,” explains Alyssa.
“The event is really important for Bristol’s drag scene,” says Alyssa who feels this event will be vital in establishing Bristol queens.

Headliners include Melissa Bianchini, Italian queen Bey famed for her Beyonce impersonations, Meth, the most famous face on the British drag scene.

Lydia’s tart tongue and political wit will be in abundance
Lydia who holds a residency at Brighton’s club Revenge and is known for satirical lip-sycs that skewer today’s politics.
