Delivering a Bristol-style Nativity story to your inbox
A mysterious star appearing over the slopes of Southmead is the herald of a Nativity rooted among different communities across Bristol.
Angels in Bristol: The Story of Christmas in Nine Miracles brings together schools and communities from across our city to share a uniquely Bristolian version of the greatest story ever told.
Featuring new poetry from Vanessa Kisuule, Angels will be delivered as nine short stories into your inbox, designed to be told one-a-day from December 20 to 28.
is needed now More than ever
Filming in locations such as St Paul’s Adventure Playground, the Black Swan in Easton and Underfall Yard, producers promise that the project “showcases the way an entire community can come together, to tell stories of comfort and joy”.
Originally conceived as a live performance in Bristol Old Vic’s courtyard theatre within their foyer, restrictions under tier three meant that the production had to be reimagined into a completely digital experience.
Despite Bristol moving into tier two from Saturday, Angels will continue as a digital experience thanks to the imagination and invention of the theatre-makers, composers, filmmakers and communities involved.
Unwrap a new story in your inbox every day for nine days this Christmas, by registering for free at bristololdvic.org.uk/angels-in-bristol before 5pm on Friday.
